Leonoor Rinke de Wit is a New York based composer/lyricist, orchestrator, arranger, and copyist. Her original musicals include 2084 (co-writer Travis Frank, 2017) and Children of The Decree (co-writers Stephanie Carlin and Georgeta Seserman, 2017). Leonoor's original music explores stories that are challenging and close to home, asking listeners to reexamine today's world with new perspective.
Leonoor studied at Berklee College of Music and graduated summa cum laude in 2018. As an orchestrator, Leonoor has contributed to several projects, most notably Popstars!, an original Australian musical licensed by MTI, and How Did You Get This Number at 54 Below, in collaboration with Georgia Stitt (MAESTRA) and Kate Baldwin (Tony nomination, Best Actress). Recent credits as a copyist include the Boston Pops (Phillipa Soo and Renée Elise Goldsberry), The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Winner, 8 Emmy Awards), and We Live In Cairo (A.R.T., 2019). Leonoor has also served as a music assistant for Jerry Springer: The Opera (Off-Broadway, 2018) and King Kong (Broadway, 2018), and in 2018 she conducted the background vocalists for a concert by Charlie Puth.
Aside from her work in theater, Leonoor has headlined several indie-pop acts. In 2008, Leonoor released her first single with brother Pepijn Rinke de Wit called Give It, Get It (The Hague, The Netherlands). Give it, Get it was broadcast on national Ugandan radio and was part of a fundraising campaign to raise money for HIV/AIDS in Uganda. In 2010 she released an album with her band Second Bear Left called Over with nearly all self-written compositions. In 2013 Leonoor released her second album called Vagabond (Cape Town, South Africa) and in that same year recorded a single called Barefooted Dancer (Cape Town, South Africa) in commission of CHELO, a registered NPO that funds education for high school students in South Africa.
Upcoming projects include new original musical Aftershocks, copyist of Cagney, and a new performance series highlighting her original cabaret music.
